In 2014, EU production of tubes and hoses of vulcanized rubber stood at 435 thousand tonnes, which was 22 thousand tonnes more than in 2013. In value terms, EU rubber tube production reached 3,902 million EUR in 2014, growing by 2.1% annually.

Its primary trading partner was France, where it supplied 12.9% of its total unvulcanized rubber exports in value terms, accounting for 46.8% of total French imports.
