Acrylic Polymer Price in India (CIF) - 2022
The average acrylic polymer import price stood at $2,642 per ton in 2022, jumping by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild setback. The import price peaked at $3,183 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($6,658 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($1,776 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Acrylic Polymer Price in India (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average acrylic polymer export price amounted to $1,599 per ton, dropping by -8.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,740 per ton, and then contracted in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,384 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($1,162 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Acrylic Polymer Imports in India
In 2022, the amount of acrylic polymers (in primary forms) imported into India dropped to 305K tons, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 307K tons, leveling off in the following year.
In value terms, acrylic polymer imports surged to $806M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.4% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 45%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Acrylic Polymer Exports in India
Acrylic polymer exports from India dropped dramatically to 130K tons in 2022, falling by -18.6% compared with 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 87%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 160K tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, acrylic polymer exports shrank significantly to $208M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 162% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $278M, and then reduced notably in the following year.
