Apple Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
The average apple import price stood at $566 per ton in May 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 112% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $656 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,502 per ton), while the price for France ($300 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apple Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2023
The average apple export price stood at $894 per ton in June 2023, growing by 8.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 37% m-o-m. The export price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,186 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($255 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
