Pakistan, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Israel, Spain and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of consumption, amongst the leading consuming countries, was attained by Malaysia (with a CAGR of +83.8%), while consumption for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($1.5B) led the market, alone. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($126M). It was followed by China.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United States stood at -5.2%. The remaining consuming countries recorded the following average annual rates of market growth: Japan (+1.8% per year) and China (-2.9% per year).
In 2022, the highest levels of blow lamp per capita consumption was registered in Israel (111 kg per 1000 persons), followed by Malaysia (49 kg per 1000 persons), the United States (36 kg per 1000 persons) and Italy (26 kg per 1000 persons), while the world average per capita consumption of blow lamp was estimated at 7.7 kg per 1000 persons.

Over the period under review, global production attained the peak volume at 71K tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, blow lamp production rose notably to $1.9B in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the production volume increased by 69% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global production attained the peak level at $3B in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

The countries with the highest volumes of production in 2022 were China (14K tons), the United States (9.2K tons) and India (5.1K tons), with a combined 51% share of global production. Pakistan, Russia, Japan, Taiwan (Chinese), Italy, Turkey, Israel, Iran, Spain and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.

Imports
World Imports of Blow Lamps
In 2022, the amount of blow lamps imported worldwide expanded markedly to 11K tons, increasing by 11% against the year before. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +83.1% against 2013 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 23%. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +92.9% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Global imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, the United States (2.7K tons), distantly followed by Malaysia (1.6K tons), Germany (1.4K tons) and Canada (0.5K tons) represented the major importers of blow lamps, together generating 58% of total imports. The following importers - France (471 tons), the Netherlands (425 tons), the UK (300 tons), Japan (252 tons), Austria (237 tons), Russia (211 tons), Australia (210 tons), Ukraine (176 tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (174 tons) - together made up 23% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Malaysia (with a CAGR of +68.3%), while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest blow lamp importing markets worldwide were the United States ($37M), Germany ($20M) and Malaysia ($9.9M), together accounting for 48% of global imports.

Import Prices By Country

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,560 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($19,319 per ton), while Ukraine ($4,053 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of blow lamps, when their volume decreased by -5.3% to 5.2K tons. Overall, total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +85.4% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at 5.5K tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, blow lamp exports fell slightly to $107M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +55.7% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $109M, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports By Country
Taiwan (Chinese) represented the main exporting country with an export of about 2K tons, which resulted at 38% of total exports. China (1,036 tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 20% share, followed by Germany (12%), the Netherlands (7.8%) and France (7.2%). Estonia (149 tons) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +24.3%), while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Taiwan (Chinese) ($36M) remains the largest blow lamp supplier worldwide, comprising 34% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($16M), with a 15% share of global exports. It was followed by China, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Taiwan (Chinese) stood at +13.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+5.2% per year) and China (+5.7% per year).
Export Prices By Country
The average blow lamp export price stood at $20,377 per ton in 2022, increasing by 3.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 24%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $24,261 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($29,404 per ton), while France ($9,806 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
