Chlorine Price in Peru (FOB) - 2021
In April 2020, the average chlorine export price amounted to $442 per ton, waning by -7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2020 an increase of 6.8% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $476 per ton, and then declined in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In April 2020, the highest price was recorded for prices to Bolivia ($480 per ton) and Ecuador ($470 per ton), while the average price for exports to Panama ($416 per ton) and Nicaragua ($426 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guatemala (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average chlorine import price amounted to $772 per ton, picking up by 5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 28%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $905 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
