Cotton Yarn Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average cotton yarn import price amounted to $14,876 per ton, rising by 9.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 235% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $27,785 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($30,339 per ton), while the price for China ($7,583 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cotton yarn export price stood at $4,883 per ton in 2022, dropping by -10.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 205%.
