Fiberboard Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
The average fiberboard import price stood at $137 per cubic meter in September 2023, waning by -4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 8.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $154 per cubic meter in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Latvia ($217 per cubic meter), while the price for Romania ($95.7 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Fiberboard Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2022
The average fiberboard export price stood at $101 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $103 per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($350 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($83 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Imports in Lithuania
Fiberboard imports into Lithuania fell to 1.2M cubic meters in 2022, waning by -10.8% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 24%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.3M cubic meters, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, fiberboard imports rose notably to $163M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 58% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Fiberboard Exports in Lithuania
