Grape Price in Jordan (FOB) - 2022

The average grape export price stood at $1,832 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -19.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 37%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,544 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($2,083 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($813 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average grape import price amounted to $2,445 per ton, surging by 3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from India ($2,445 per ton) and Lebanon ($2,445 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,445 per ton) and Chile ($2,445 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Grape Exports in Jordan

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of grapes, when their volume decreased by -67.6% to 767 tons. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 139% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 2.4K tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, grape exports declined remarkably to $1.4M in 2022. In general, exports showed a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 150% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $5.4M, and then fell significantly in the following year.
