Grapefruit Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

In September 2023, the average grapefruit import price amounted to $1,209 per ton, jumping by 36% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,306 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,218 per ton), while the price for China ($746 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Grapefruit Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023

The average grapefruit export price stood at $1,307 per ton in September 2023, growing by 42% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $1,496 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Kazakhstan ($1,419 per ton) and Belarus ($1,399 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($1,213 per ton) and Estonia ($1,335 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Grapefruit Imports in Lithuania

In 2022, purchases abroad of grapefruits decreased by -14.7% to 4.5K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 2.1%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.8K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, grapefruit imports reduced to $4.8M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep reduction. The smallest decline of -1.1% was in 2020.

Grapefruit Exports in Lithuania

In 2022, overseas shipments of grapefruits decreased by -45.5% to 1.2K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.5K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, grapefruit exports dropped notably to $1.5M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The smallest decline of -5.7% was in 2020.
