Maize Bran Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average maize bran export price amounted to $246 per ton, falling by -43.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 85% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $913 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Spain.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the UK amounted to +0.5% per month.
Maize Bran Price in Italy (CIF) - 2023
The average maize bran import price stood at $269 per ton in June 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 an increase of 142% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $953 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($397 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($225 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maize Bran Exports in Italy
Maize bran exports from Italy skyrocketed to 7.7K tons in 2022, increasing by 49% compared with the year before. Overall, exports saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 388% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, maize bran exports surged to $2.5M in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 143%.
