The average mandarins import price stood at $854 per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 7.2%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,111 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,768 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($427 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average mandarins export price stood at $1,405 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 81%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,584 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($2,063 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($1,039 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+18.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of fruit, edible decreased by -13.8% to 55K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +57.2% against 2019 indices. In value terms, mandarins imports declined to $47M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +70.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $55M, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, mandarins exports shrank significantly to $8.8M in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 96% against the previous year.
