From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of consumption, amongst the key consuming countries, was attained by Pakistan (with a CAGR of +48.7%), while consumption for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest medical or laboratory sterilizer markets worldwide were Turkey ($477M), the United States ($460M) and India ($452M), with a combined 46% share of the global market. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Mozambique (with a CAGR of +66.9%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($228M) constitutes the largest market for imported medical, surgical or laboratory sterilizers worldwide, comprising 18% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($67M), with a 5.3% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 3.6% share.

At the same time, Belarus (+20.0%), Spain (+18.7%), Australia (+17.4%), Italy (+14.2%), Germany (+7.4%) and India (+6.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, the United States (-2.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+9.2 p.p.), Belarus (+5.4 p.p.), Australia (+2.8 p.p.) and Italy (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the United States saw its share reduced by -2.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($208M), China ($140M) and the United States ($124M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 39% share of global exports. Germany, Spain, Australia, India and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Australia, with a CAGR of +27.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average medical or laboratory sterilizer export price amounted to $646 per unit, rising by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,645 per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
