Mushroom and Truffle Price in the United Arab Emirates (CIF) - 2022

The average mushroom and truffle import price stood at $4,782 per ton in 2022, increasing by 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mushroom and truffle import price increased by +3.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,988 per ton), while the price for India ($644 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Mushroom and Truffle Price in the United Arab Emirates (FOB) - 2022

The average mushroom and truffle export price stood at $1,493 per ton in 2022, waning by -57.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 33% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,675 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($2,529 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burundi ($871 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tanzania (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mushroom and Truffle Imports in the United Arab Emirates

In 2022, approx. 1.1K tons of mushrooms and truffles were imported into the United Arab Emirates; dropping by -75.3% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports saw a sharp setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 6.7%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.5K tons, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports dropped remarkably to $5.3M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a precipitous contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $21M, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Mushroom and Truffle Exports in the United Arab Emirates

For the fourth year in a row, the United Arab Emirates recorded growth in shipments abroad of mushrooms and truffles, which increased by 69% to 430 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed significant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, mushroom and truffle exports dropped notably to $641K in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year.
