Non-Corrugated Paper Box Price in Libya (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average non-corrugated paper box import price amounted to $3,872 per ton, reducing by -2.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,984 per ton in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($5,164 per ton), while the price for Austria ($1,912 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Non-Corrugated Paper Box Price in Libya (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average non-corrugated paper box export price amounted to $740 per ton, dropping by -3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 7.7%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,672 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($758 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mauritania amounted to $584 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tunisia (-7.6%).

Non-Corrugated Paper Box Imports in Libya

In 2022, non-corrugated paper box imports into Libya skyrocketed to 17K tons, picking up by 26% on 2021. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -15.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 52%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 20K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-corrugated paper box imports skyrocketed to $67M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -15.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $79M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
