Nonwoven Fabric Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average nonwoven fabric import price stood at $4,645 per ton in 2022, dropping by -3.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 9.3%. The import price peaked at $6,335 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($12,218 per ton), while the price for Sri Lanka ($996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In September 2022, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $20,810 per ton, increasing by 45% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 an increase of 174% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $29,885 per ton. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($44,548 per ton), while the average price for exports to Djibouti ($4,490 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 14K tons of nonwoven fabrics were imported into Singapore; with an increase of 5.5% on 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 27%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports amounted to $65M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 29%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $71M.
