Oat Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average oat import price stood at $285 per ton in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $348 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($443 per ton), while the price for China ($182 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+58.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Oat Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
The average oat export price stood at $2,367 per ton in 2022, growing by 4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 84%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,619 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($7,493 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($1,742 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+41.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Oat Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, purchases abroad of oats decreased by -34.6% to 933 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 225% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.4K tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, oat imports contracted rapidly to $266K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 240%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $411K, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Oat Exports in Vietnam
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in shipments abroad of oats, when their volume increased by 1.9% to 660 kg. Overall, exports, however, showed a sharp decrease.
In value terms, oat exports rose notably to $1.6K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic descent.
