Olive Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
In October 2023, the average olive export price amounted to $8,411 per ton, declining by -3.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.8% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,679 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($11,348 per ton), while the average price for exports to Aruba ($2,278 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average olive import price stood at $645 per ton in October 2023, dropping by -72.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 96% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,688 per ton. From February 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkey.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Italy amounted to +1.9% per month.
Olive Exports in the Netherlands
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of olives, when their volume decreased by -1.2% to 1.6K tons. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 155% against the previous year.
In value terms, olive exports amounted to $12M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 285% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Olive Imports in the Netherlands
