In September 2022, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $2,111 per ton, increasing by 1.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 8.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,239 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,000 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $1,956 per ton in September 2022, dropping by -3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 an increase of 4.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,339 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($3,807 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,703 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Apples, Pears and Quinces; Fresh in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 57K tons of apples, pears and quinces; freshes were imported into Singapore; picking up by 3.9% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 11%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 65K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, apples, pears and quinces; fresh imports rose notably to $88M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
