The average import price for textiles; worn clothing and other worn articleses stood at $1,256 per ton in 2022, dropping by -3.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 78%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,299 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,676 per ton), while the price for Spain ($664 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price saw a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 102% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,087 per ton in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($3,445 per ton), while the average price for exports to Benin ($186 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cote d'Ivoire (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
