The average export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron stood at $1,131 per ton in 2022, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 48%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,232 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($2,645 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($772 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
