The average export price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose stood at $538 per ton in February 2022, picking up by 2% against the previous month. Over the period from February 2021 to February 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 an increase of 50% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $760 per ton. From July 2021 to February 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($962 per ton), while the average price for exports to Guyana ($376 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In February 2022, the average import price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose amounted to $595 per ton, waning by -4.2% against the previous month. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $621 per ton in January 2022, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices from Peru ($669 per ton) and Ecuador ($652 per ton), while the price for Nicaragua ($554 per ton) and Guatemala ($580 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
