The average yarn; of flax, single export price stood at $14,730 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 9.2% m-o-m. The export price peaked in July 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($22,537 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($10,391 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average yarn; of flax, single import price stood at $13,687 per ton in July 2023, waning by -47.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 88% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $25,990 per ton, and then dropped markedly in the following month.
