By contrast, Spain (-1.3%), Singapore (-1.8%), Vietnam (-2.3%), Egypt (-3.6%), Russia (-6.3%), the UK (-8.0%) and South Africa (-8.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the United States, India, Malaysia, Mexico and Myanmar increased by +19, +4.4, +2.6, +2.2 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($689M) constitutes the largest market for imported printing presses worldwide, comprising 13% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($238M), with a 4.5% share of global imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 2.5% share.
In the United States, printing press imports increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (-1.8% per year) and the UK (-4.2% per year).
