In June 2023, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price amounted to $2,713 per ton, jumping by 34% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $2,764 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,570 per ton), while the price for India ($2,271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) export price amounted to $4,050 per ton, shrinking by -7.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 an increase of 70% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,897 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,313 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($2,724 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of spices; turmeric (curcuma) increased by 14% to 1.2K tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of spices; turmeric (curcuma), when their volume decreased by -34.6% to 204 tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 45%.
