Triticale Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average triticale import price amounted to $267 per ton, waning by -6.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 6% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $331 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($269 per ton), while the price for France ($238 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (-0.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Triticale Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average triticale export price amounted to $187 per ton, falling by -22.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 30% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $517 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($411 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (-4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Triticale Imports in the Netherlands
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of triticale decreased by -9.4% to 137K tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 63%.
In value terms, triticale imports skyrocketed to $43M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Triticale Exports in the Netherlands
In 2022, overseas shipments of triticale decreased by -40.7% to 5.7K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 1,313%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 10K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, triticale exports dropped remarkably to $1.1M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 1,067%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $2.6M.
