Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the wood chips, particles and residues exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Malaysia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Australia (X%), Thailand (X%), New Zealand (X%) and Indonesia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia saw its share reduced by X%, X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per cubic meter), while New Zealand ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
In 2021, supplies from abroad of wood chips, particles and residues was finally on the rise to reach X cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
