France represented the largest exporter of spirits obtained from distilled grape wine or grape marc in Europe, with the volume of exports recording X litres, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Moldova (X litres) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Spain (X litres), Portugal (X litres) and Germany (X litres). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Italy (X litres) and the Netherlands (X litres) - together made up X% of total exports.
Exports from France decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Portugal (X%) and Moldova (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Portugal emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Germany (X%), the Netherlands (X%), Italy (X%) and Spain (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Moldova (X p.p.), Portugal (X p.p.) and Germany (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2023, the share of Italy (X p.p.) and Spain (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, France ($X) remains the largest grape wine spirits supplier in Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a X% share.
In France, grape wine spirits exports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2023. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Spain (X% per year) and Italy (X% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Russia represented the major importing country with an import of around X litres, which resulted at X% of total imports.
