The volume of export peaked at X square meters in 2022, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, veneer sheet exports reduced notably to $X in 2023. In general, exports, however, posted temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2022, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Exports by Country

Turkey prevails in exports structure, accounting for X square meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X square meters), achieving an X% share of total exports. Lebanon (X square meters) and Palestine (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to veneer sheet exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, Palestine (X%), Lebanon (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Palestine emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. While the share of Turkey (X p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Palestine ($X per square meter), while Lebanon ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
