Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Cote d'Ivoire represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which reached X% of total exports. Senegal (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Togo (X%) and Ghana (X%).
Cote d'Ivoire experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of plastics household articles and toilet articles. At the same time, Togo (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Togo emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Senegal experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ghana (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Cote d'Ivoire (X p.p.), Togo (X p.p.) and Senegal (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Ghana (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Cote d'Ivoire was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Senegal (X% per year) and Togo (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by X%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while Togo ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, plastic household ware imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Ghana (X tons) was the key importer of plastics household articles and toilet articles, committing X% of total imports. Burkina Faso (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Nigeria (X%), Gambia (X%), Mali (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%), Liberia (X%) and Senegal (X%).
Imports into Ghana increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Gambia (X%), Nigeria (X%), Liberia (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%), Burkina Faso (X%), Mali (X%) and Senegal (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Gambia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Ghana (X p.p.), Nigeria (X p.p.), Gambia (X p.p.), Burkina Faso (X p.p.), Liberia (X p.p.) and Cote d'Ivoire (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Mali and Senegal saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
