Aluminium and Titanium Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022
The average aluminium and titanium import price stood at $3,183 per ton in 2022, growing by 22% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium and titanium import price increased by +64.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Bahrain ($3,380 per ton) and India ($3,349 per ton), while the price for Venezuela ($2,800 per ton) and Russia ($2,856 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium and Titanium Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average aluminium and titanium export price amounted to $2,847 per ton, jumping by 17% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium and titanium export price increased by +75.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 50%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Mexico ($3,683 per ton) and the United States ($3,641 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($2,583 per ton) and Switzerland ($2,728 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium and Titanium Imports in Brazil
Aluminium and titanium imports into Brazil shrank remarkably to 307K tons in 2022, with a decrease of -51.2% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 92%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 630K tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, aluminium and titanium imports dropped markedly to $978M in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 159%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.6B, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
