Aluminium Wire Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022

The average aluminium wire import price stood at $3,880 per ton in 2022, jumping by 26% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium wire import price increased by +75.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($7,105 per ton), while the price for Russia ($3,534 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $5,488 per ton, with an increase of 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced decrease. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $7,854 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($7,686 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($88 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

For the third consecutive year, Serbia recorded decline in overseas purchases of aluminium wires, which decreased by -3.5% to 4.5K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The smallest decline of -0.9% was in 2020.

In value terms, aluminium wire imports soared to $17M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 412% against the previous year.

In value terms, aluminium wire exports reduced remarkably to $147K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 226%.
