Amino-Resin Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average amino-resin export price stood at $3,740 per ton in September 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a measured increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, amino-resin export price decreased by -13.2% against July 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 25% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $4,308 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($6,679 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($1,149 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average amino-resin import price stood at $5,133 per ton in September 2022, shrinking by -26.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated perceptible growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, amino-resin import price increased by +20.3% against June 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 an increase of 37% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,951 per ton, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($11,956 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($2,574 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Exports in Singapore
In 2022, exports of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms) from Singapore dropped to 121K tons, with a decrease of -10.8% compared with the year before. In general, exports saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 9.9%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 136K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, amino-resin exports fell slightly to $342M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $357M, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
