Apricot Price in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average apricot import price amounted to $2,717 per ton, standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, posted a mild expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 110% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,423 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($2,893 per ton), while the price for Greece ($1,578 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apricot Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
The average apricot export price stood at $1,770 per ton in May 2023, which is down by -54.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 78% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $4,057 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to May 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,209 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($637 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apricot Imports in Belgium
In 2022, approx. 4.6K tons of apricots were imported into Belgium; declining by -14.2% against 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 9%.
