The average asses; live import price stood at $172 per unit in 2022, increasing by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep contraction. As a result, imports attained the peak of 28 units, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, asses; live imports stood at $3.6K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 678% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
