Baby Food Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average baby food import price stood at $7,489 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 3.6% against the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $7,544 per ton in May 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($16,795 per ton), while the price for Poland ($5,941 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Baby Food Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average baby food export price stood at $6,516 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 34% against the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Georgia ($9,728 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($2,835 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Baby Food Imports in Turkey
In 2022, baby food imports into Turkey fell to 17K tons, dropping by -5.3% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 18K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, baby food imports shrank to $116M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $125M, and then dropped in the following year.

Baby Food Exports in Turkey
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of food preparations for infants, when their volume increased by 90% to 1.7K tons. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a sharp decline.
In value terms, baby food exports soared to $8.3M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant decrease.
