Base Station Price in the United States (CIF) - 2022
The average base station import price stood at $173 per unit in 2022, rising by 51% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, faced a deep slump. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $747 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($338 per unit), while the price for Canada ($100 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Base Station Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022
The average base station export price stood at $1,643 per unit in 2022, waning by -41% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 102% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,782 per unit in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($4,179 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($137 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+37.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Base Station Imports in the United States
In 2022, approx. 3.1M units of base stations were imported into the United States; waning by -4% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports recorded a deep contraction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 5.6M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, base station imports soared to $536M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
