The following exporters - Italy (1.4K tons), Turkey (1.2K tons), Mexico (1.2K tons), the Netherlands (1.1K tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (0.9K tons) and Germany (0.6K tons) - together made up 17% of total exports.

Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Netherlands (+29.5%), Turkey (+2.9%), the United States (+2.5%) and Italy (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +29.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Spain (-1.3%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-7.8%), China (-7.9%), Mexico (-13.5%) and Germany (-15.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+23 p.p.), the United States (+3.2 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.1 p.p.), Germany (-5.7 p.p.), Mexico (-8.3 p.p.) and China (-15.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($83M), China ($70M) and the United States ($25M) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 59% of global exports. Spain, Germany, Taiwan (Chinese), the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +22.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average basic dye export price amounted to $8,012 per ton, increasing by 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 13%.
