Bed Linen Price in China (FOB) - 2022
The average bed linen export price stood at $8,136 per ton in 2022, rising by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $12,452 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($11,944 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($5,947 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Price in China (CIF) - 2022
The average bed linen import price stood at $15,360 per ton in 2022, surging by 9.1% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 26%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($73,246 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($9,750 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Exports in China
In 2022, overseas shipments of bed linen decreased by -13% to 644K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
