Bed Linen Price in Japan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average bed linen import price amounted to $10,050 per ton, rising by 2.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 6% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $10,527 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($12,781 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($9,253 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Bed Linen Price in Japan (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average bed linen export price amounted to $65,438 per ton, surging by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, bed linen export price increased by +53.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $67,318 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($88,721 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($14,675 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+20.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Imports in Japan
In 2022, the amount of bed linen imported into Japan rose modestly to 46K tons, growing by 3.8% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 4.5%.
