Bed Linen Price in Panama (CIF) - 2022
The average bed linen import price stood at $6,632 per ton in 2022, rising by 14% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, bed linen import price decreased by -23.6% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $8,697 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($19,695 per ton), while the price for Free Zones ($5,721 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Price in Panama (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average bed linen export price amounted to $6,153 per ton, picking up by 4.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a mild expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 86%. The export price peaked at $16,371 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Aruba ($8,966 per ton), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($3,593 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Honduras (+20.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bed Linen Imports in Panama
In 2022, approx. 1.7K tons of bed linen were imported into Panama; reducing by -27.9% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a precipitous contraction. The smallest decline of -25.2% was in 2021.
