Beer Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
The average beer export price stood at $1 per litre in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 6.6%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1.4 per litre in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Lao People's Democratic Republic ($1 per litre) and Japan ($1 per litre), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($0.7 per litre) and Singapore ($1 per litre) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (-0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Beer Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average beer import price stood at $1.1 per litre in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 11%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.1 per litre; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Czech Republic ($1.1 per litre) and China ($1.1 per litre), while the price for the United States ($1 per litre) and Thailand ($1.1 per litre) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Exports in Vietnam
Beer exports from Vietnam fell to 80M litres in 2022, declining by -6.8% compared with 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 85M litres, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, beer exports shrank to $77M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $82M, and then fell in the following year.

Beer Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, the amount of beer imported into Vietnam declined to 7.1M litres, reducing by -6% compared with the year before. Overall, imports showed a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 14%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 16M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, beer imports dropped to $7.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a precipitous curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 15%. Imports peaked at $16M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
