The average bovine animals; live import price stood at $768 per unit in September 2023, declining by -6.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 151% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,523 per unit in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($863 per unit), while the price for Kazakhstan ($403 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
