In August 2023, the average bovine animals; live export price amounted to $1,040 per unit, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,080 per unit in May 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Libya ($1,262 per unit) and Hungary ($1,193 per unit), while the average price for exports to Kosovo ($880 per unit) and Montenegro ($969 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,324 per unit in June 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Romania ($1,442 per unit) and the Netherlands ($1,399 per unit), while the price for Hungary ($1,092 per unit) and the Czech Republic ($1,141 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
