In December 2022, the average bovine animals; live import price amounted to $1,449 per unit, growing by 32% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from December 2021 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, bovine animals; live import price decreased by -6.9% against October 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 53% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,556 per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,743 per unit), while the price for Spain totaled $955 per unit.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
