Bovine Animals; Live Price in Romania (FOB) - 2023
The average bovine animals; live export price stood at $1,194 per unit in August 2023, growing by 4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 6.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,222 per unit in June 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,415 per unit), while the average price for exports to Kosovo ($600 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average bovine animals; live import price amounted to $1,049 per unit, shrinking by -13.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,211 per unit in June 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($1,549 per unit), while the price for Italy ($188 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
