The average bovine animals; live export price stood at $474 per unit in August 2023, picking up by 76% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible slump. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $641 per unit in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Lebanon.

In 2022, the average bovine animals; live import price amounted to $2,080 per unit, reducing by -12.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,091 per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries.
