In December 2022, the average bovine animals; live import price amounted to $1,033 per unit, increasing by 1.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,283 per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2022.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Australia ($1,040 per unit), while the price for Thailand totaled $1,009 per unit.

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of bovine animals; lives decreased by -27.3% to 1.4K units in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 120% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.9K units, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
