Breakfast Cereal Price in India (FOB) - 2023
The average breakfast cereal export price stood at $1,520 per ton in September 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 13% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,794 per ton. From June 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($2,078 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bhutan ($620 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Breakfast Cereal Price in India (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average breakfast cereal import price amounted to $2,345 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, the import price saw a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 331% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $8,234 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($11,926 per ton), while the price for Australia ($468 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Breakfast Cereal Exports in India
In 2022, overseas shipments of breakfast cereals decreased by -35.5% to 24K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports showed a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 19%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 42K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, breakfast cereal exports dropped rapidly to $45M in 2022. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 23%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $57M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Breakfast Cereal Imports in India
Breakfast cereal imports into India expanded to 1.1K tons in 2022, with an increase of 4.3% against the year before. In general, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +21.7% over the last three-year period.
