Cabbage Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average cabbage export price amounted to $879 per ton, with an increase of 19% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated noticeable growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cabbage export price increased by +89.4% against October 2022 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($1,362 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($663 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cabbage Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average cabbage import price stood at $753 per ton in June 2023, declining by -5.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cabbage import price decreased by -36.0% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 79% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,233 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,236 per ton), while the price for Romania ($329 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Albania (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cabbage Exports in Poland
Cabbage exports from Poland skyrocketed to 88K tons in 2022, with an increase of 30% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +58.2% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cabbage exports soared to $48M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +77.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
