The average carbides import price stood at $8,245 per ton in September 2023, with a decrease of -51.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 184% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $17,056 per ton in August 2023, and then fell remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($17,840 per ton), while the price for India ($2,142 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
